Sirikari Village is located 55 Km west of Chania and 17 km south of Kissamos, in a lush green area with Gorges and  water streams. Its said that its name derives from the Byzantine surname Sirikarius, which means the one who weaves silk textures or the one who works with silk.

The gorge

From here begins the beautiful gorge of Sirikari leading to the settlement of Polirinia, where the ancient town of Polirinia was built.  The path is on medium difficulty level and it is an activity recommended by the locals.
